Fund
Raiser: Nutrition/Health CD-ROM Game for Children (6-16 yrs.)
"Nutrition
and Kids Adventures" 3-D, CD-ROM Game Fund Raiser: Nutrition/Health
CD-ROM Game for Children (6-16yr.)
Nutrition
and Kids have come out with a health and nutrition "3-D" CD-ROM
game for children filled with fun things to help our children
learn about proper eating habits and our bodies............but
at the same time............ earn money for their schools
as well!
Our idea
is to promote this CD-ROM game directed to our elementary
age children to provide them with education on health and
nutrition. Our aim is not only to bring higher mentality and
awareness on how important nutrition plays a vital role in
our physical or mental health, but also to generate a generous
amount of funds that can be given to the schools for the betterment
of education to our young people which, is so vital to our
future.
What we
propose is a fund-raising opportunity for your school to receive
thousands of dollars. Each CD-ROM will sell for $19.95 with
$5 per CD given back to the school. Because of all the awareness
in the media today on the importance of good nutrition, especially
in our young, we feel this will not only be a tremendous asset
to your young kids but will be quite a hot product and will
result in many sales.
We will
provide assistance to make this fund-raiser opportunity simple
and timely for you so as not to infringe upon your already
busy schedules. The fund-raisers can be promoted through PTA
meetings, STPO, book drives, etc., in-conjunction with other
fund-raising activities already in place. A very simple approach
is to send home a flyer explaining the CD-ROM game, the cost,
and the importance of parent/child participation in receiving
orders. All checks can be made out directly to your school
and you will receive all the monies first hand. After collecting
all orders, you may place an order for the appropriate amount
of CD's needed.
We feel
this is a new and exciting approach to educate our children
and a much more beneficial fund-raiser than candy bar sales
or wrapping paper. Our children deserve the "best" possible
education that we can provide them. Our efforts can and will
make a huge difference by reaching our goal of working together
and bridging the gap between teachers, parents, and child
involvement. We feel our parents will be behind this wholeheartedly
because it is our wish as parents to have happy, healthy children.
This "wholesome" thought doesn't go away right after giving
birth.
It is
a prayer that we have every night when we go to sleep. With
this in mind, 70% of what we are physically and mentally comes
from proper nutrition. In our busy lifestyles that we live
today, we have not only neglected teaching ourselves about
proper nutrition, but have not been able to give proper consideration
to teaching our young ones how to eat properly.
a.
According to the U.S. Surgeon General, obesity in children
has risen 54% in just the past 20 years.
b. The director for the Center for Disease Control
mimics those sentiments and feels that we have an "epidemic"
of poor eating habits in our young.
c. The media is now quoting the American Heart Association
and other entities talking about diabetes, high blood pressure,
and even hardening of the arteries in our young.
All of
this is not surprising since many of our convenient foods
that our children consume daily are laden with sugar, preservatives,
sodium, high carbohydrates and fat. Dr. David Nelson from
San Diego, CA states that "if we could just improve our children's
diets, we would see a dramatic increase in their grades at
school". Not only can poor eating habits lead to poor health
and academic performance, but also it can lead to obesity,
which can lead to low self-esteem, self-consciousness, depression,
etc., all which we know reflects on how our children perform
in school. Lower grades, not getting along with other children,
unruly conduct in the classroom, are all attributes of this
dilemma.
"Nutrition
and Kids Adventures" is a cutting edge game that will intrigue
the children to teach "themselves" about proper nutrition,
healthy food, and having a healthy body. Our game will be
so exciting to play because the children will be awarded prizes
as they reach new levels in the game.
a.
never before has there been such a "game frenzy" featured
all over the media
b. never before has health and nutrition gotten so
much exposure in the media
c. never before has there been a greater need and push
for computers
Our
future plans will be to extend our game on to regional and
national competitions among the children (much like spelling
bees) and give them not only the opportunity to learn and
achieve recognition, but to also win very cools prizes not
only for themselves but for the schools they represent as
well.
Nutrition
for Kids’ Mission Statement: To educate our nation's children
on proper nutrition and health in a way that they will motivate
"themselves" to instill healthy eating habits. Our endeavor
is to reach out to the nation's schools and give back to them,
since they are in-trusted everyday in molding our children's
lives.....our children are our future!
Dr.
Gebrosky urges everyone out there “to come and join us............make
a difference......for our kids!”
